Bandile Shandu's agent on Orlando Pirates contractual negotiations with the player: We are waiting for Pirates on whether they will keep him or not
Bandile Shandu is ready to continue his football career elsewhere should Orlando Pirates decide against extending his contract beyond expiration in June.
The defender’s deal with the Soweto club is in its last season and by now the club ought to have expressed intent of whether they want to retain him or not.
But the Pirates hierarchy are yet to commit to the player.
The player’s agent Mike Makaab told football publication FarPost that they are still waiting for a call to the Pirates boardroom on talks of renewal for Shandu.
“Bandile Shandu is contracted to Orlando Pirates, and for us it is just to wait for the club to make a decision on the player. In this situation, they have the first preference,” Makaab said.
“We are open to any decision from Pirates, and should they opt against renewing the contract in the coming months, we’ll be left with no choice but to look for other options for Shandu.”
The right-back arrived at Pirates in 2021 and has made over 100 appearances with 11 goals to his name.
