Athletic Bilbao triumphed over Atletico Madrid and advanced to the final of the Copa del Rey

On February 29th, the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final between Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid took place. The match ended with a score of 3-0 in favor of the hosts [first leg - 1:0].

The scoring was opened in the 13th minute by Inaki Williams, assisted by his younger brother, Nico Williams. In the 42nd minute, the roles were reversed as Nico found the net with an assist from Inaki. The hosts went into halftime with a two-goal advantage.

Gorka Guruzeta sealed the match with a decisive goal in the 61st minute.

With an aggregate score of 4-0 across both legs, Athletic Bilbao emerged victorious. In the final of the 2023/24 Copa del Rey, they will face Mallorca, who eliminated Real Sociedad in the semi-finals.

The Copa del Rey final will take place on April 6th in Seville.
