The transfer window in England opened just a week ago, and clubs are already actively working in the market.

Today, it was announced that Everton and Aston Villa have decided to exchange central midfielders. Tim Iroegbunam has joined the Toffees, while Lewis Dobbin has moved to Villa Park.

Everton officially announced the signing of Iroegbunam. His contract runs until 2027. The 20-year-old midfielder commented on his transfer with the following words:

"I am ready to give my all. I can't wait to show what I can bring to this club."

Tim Iroegbunam is a product of West Bromwich Albion's academy and joined Aston Villa in 2021. He has played nineteen matches for the senior team, five of which were on the international stage.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Lewis Dobbin's move to Aston Villa, stating that it is part of the deal for Iroegbunam's transfer.

Dobbin is an Everton academy graduate and, apart from a loan spell at Derby County, has always played for the Toffees. He has 20 appearances for the first team, in which he scored one goal.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. However, it is worth noting that according to the statistical portal Transfermarkt, Iroegbunam's contract value exceeds Dobbin's by €1.5 million (€4 million versus €2.5 million). Therefore, it is possible that Everton had to pay Aston Villa to complete this exchange.
