Arthur Zwane's AmaZulu jumps to third place in the Betway Premiership after their 2-0 win over Siwelele FC
Athini Maqokola netted a brace to see AmaZulu beat Siwelele FC in a Betway Premiership match played at Moses Mabhida Stadium this afternoon.
Maqokola’s goals came from either half in a game which saw Usuthu lacked firepower upfront as they would have easily won this game by a higher margin had they converted.
This victory sees Arthur Zwane’s men from from sixth place to third on the Betway Premiership standings with 24 points.
But SekhuKhune United play this evening and a win by United may move AmaZulu from the third spot as Babina Noko also have 21 points ahead of their game against Marumo Gallants.
The difference in points in the Betway Premiership is not as vast as a win for any team turns their position on the table around.
Back at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Siwelele would be ruing the luck as they did all they could but just could not find the back of the net.
Lehlohonolo Seema’s men remain 10th on the standings and their inconsistency has been their Achilles Heel since the team the season began.
They play Chippa United a week from now where they will be hoping to ensure the Chilly Boys don’t move from foot of the PSL table.
