Arthur Sales on Mamelodi Sundowns clash against Richards Bay today: Our draw against Stellenbosch disappointed us so we plan to rise again today
Arthur Sales believes the 1-1 draw Mamelodi Sundowns played against Stellenbosch FC in midweek was setting them up for a much more improved display today against Richards Bay FC.
Sales said they were disappointed with the draw but it has now made them look to put out a brave display at a sold out Umhlathuze Sports Complex this afternoon in a Betway Premiership match.
That draw dented their title chase as it meant they remain on the second spot with 57 points, one less than table-toppers Orlando Pirates.
This evening they have a chance to restore their title push against Richards Bay in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
“Of course you will feel bad things after the draw, but I think it’s also a good step for us to improve, so with this point, it will push us to do better,” Sales said.
“I think it’s going to be tough game against Richards Bay to play that side, but we have to show something to our fans, we feel like we need to give a big performance and an answer to our fans,” he said.
“It’s nice to play in the full stadiums, it’s sold out because everyone believes in us, that’s why our fans are coming to the stadium, we need this one, this support, it’s a good answer from our fans, to us, to show belief.
“Also we need to show 100% power in the game and win three points.”
The match starts at 5.30pm.
