Another gold medal. Léon Marchand triumphs in the 200-meter individual medley
Swimming continued at the 2024 Olympic Games. On Friday, August 2, the final of the 200-meter individual medley took place.
French swimmer Léon Marchand secured another gold medal. He completed the distance in 1:54.06 minutes, once again setting an Olympic record. This is Marchand's fourth gold medal at the current Olympics.
Britain's Duncan Scott finished in second place, while China's Wang Shun claimed third.
17-year-old Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh set an Olympic record in the 200-meter butterfly event, completing the distance in 2:03.03 minutes.
Moreover, legendary American gymnast Simone Biles became the Olympic champion in the most prestigious discipline in artistic gymnastics – the individual all-around.
It is worth noting that French swimmer Léon Marchand has already won three gold medals and set new Olympic records three times.
