Bayern's emphatic victory over RB Leipzig came with an unexpected concern on the touchline.

Details: Bayern sporting executive Max Eberl revealed that Vincent Kompany had been battling an infection throughout the week and was also suffering from a sports-related hip injury. The Belgian was therefore unable to coach in his usual energetic manner during the 6-1 Bundesliga victory over RB Leipzig and spent most of the match sitting on the bench.

Kompany even required assistance while using the stadium stairs, while assistant coach Aaron Danks took on the majority of the instructions from the technical area. After the final whistle, Kompany also skipped his usual television interview and did not attend the post-match press conference, with Eberl speaking to journalists in his place.

Despite the worrying scenes, Bayern are optimistic that the situation will not keep their head coach away from the Champions League. Eberl said the club fully expects Kompany to be available for Wednesday's home game against Arsenal, one of the biggest fixtures of Bayern's European campaign.

It is worth noting that Bayern demolished RB Leipzig 6-1 at the Allianz Arena. Luis Díaz scored a hat-trick, while Harry Kane also found the net on his 100th Bundesliga appearance.
