On Sunday, at Cairo International Stadium, Al Ahly won a big game against CR Belouizdad with a score of 6-1. This was in the third round of Group C in the CAF Champions League. Wessam Abou Ali played really well and scored three goals, while Hussein El Shahat, Percy Tau, and Emam Ashour also scored one goal each.
CR Belouizdad initially took the lead in the 21st minute through Aymen Mahious, but Al Ahly responded emphatically. Abou Ali equalized just before halftime in the 45+3’ minute, and then scored twice more in the second half (52’ and 84’). El Shahat added a goal in the 56th minute, while Tau scored in the 86th minute, and Ashour completed the rout in the 90+6’ minute.
The win propelled Al Ahly to the top of Group C with 7 points, while CR Belouizdad remained in third place with 3 points.
This victory was critical for Al Ahly, especially given their previous setback in the FIFA Club World Cup, where they fell to Pachuca in a penalty shootout. The team's focus has now switched entirely to their continental campaign, and fans are hopeful about the future following this impressive victory.
