Al Ahly players refused to acknowledge their fans after a dominant 6-1 victory against Algeria's CR Belouizdad in the third round of the CAF Champions League group stage at Cairo International Stadium.
The players’ decision stemmed from chants directed at them before the match, particularly against goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy and forward Mahmoud Abdel Moneim "Kahraba."
Kahraba apparently told his teammates not to react to the fans' cheers after the game, mentioning the earlier negative behavior from the crowd. Even though they won by a big margin, the players left the field without talking to the supporters.
A few players, including El-Shennawy and Ramy Rabia, attempted to greet the supporters at first, but the club's sports director, Mohamed Ramadan, interrupted them and sent the squad to the locker room.
This situation shows that there is more tension between Al Ahly's players and their fans, even though the team is doing well in a very important competition.
