Mohamed El-Shenawy, the captain of Al Ahly, has urged his squad to move past their recent setback and concentrate on defeating CR Belouizdad in their CAF Champions League Group C match on Sunday at the Cairo International Stadium.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, El-Shenawy emphasized the importance of the game, stating: “We understand its importance, and our goal is to win and top the group.”
"We have closed the chapter on the Intercontinental Cup and are now fully focused on what's ahead, starting with the CR Belouizdad game," the skipper said in response to the team's recent Challenger Cup loss to Pachuca, highlighting the team's resolve to go forward.
El-Shenawy, who has recovered from a minor shoulder injury, reassured fans of his readiness and made a promise:
“We promise our fans that the future will be better. We are eagerly awaiting tomorrow’s match to make amends and show our appreciation to the supporters.”
