AC Milan vs Liverpool: Kick-off time, How to Watch, Live stream - 17 September, 2024
One of the world’s premier club tournaments, the UEFA Champions League, returns to thrill the fans. For the first time, the competition will follow a new format, and in the very first round, we are treated to a top-tier clash: AC Milan will host Liverpool.
AC Milan vs Liverpool: what to know about the match?
Last season, Milan displayed somewhat inconsistent performances, yet it did not prevent them from securing second place in the Serie A standings. The Rossoneri were only surpassed by Inter, leaving other clubs behind.
In the previous Champions League campaign, the Italians found themselves in the so-called "group of death" and could only finish third, leading to their relegation to the Europa League. However, misfortune followed them there as well, as they were knocked out by Roma in the quarter-finals.
Liverpool, on the other hand, took a hiatus from the Champions League and competed in the Europa League last season. The Merseysiders comfortably topped their group and advanced to the knockout stage, only to be eliminated in the quarter-finals by the eventual champions, Atalanta.
In the Premier League, Liverpool contended for the title but faltered towards the end, finishing third. Nevertheless, this result was sufficient for the English side to reclaim their place in Europe’s most prestigious club tournament.
