The legendary Zidane is about to start a new chapter in his coaching career.

Details: According to ESPN, citing journalist Julien Laurens, the French Football Federation and 53-year-old Zinedine Zidane have reached a verbal agreement for Zidane to take over as head coach of the France national team.

Reports indicate that the French Football Federation’s leadership decided to allow current head coach Didier Deschamps to lead "Les Bleus" at the World Cup, but after the tournament Deschamps will step down regardless of the team's performance.

Deschamps has managed France since 2012, overseeing 173 matches. Under his guidance, Les Bleus have claimed 111 victories, 32 draws, and suffered 30 defeats. With France, Deschamps won the 2018 World Cup and the Nations League in 2021.

As for Zidane, the Frenchman has been out of work since leaving his post as Real Madrid’s head coach in 2021.
