Yan Diomande scores a stunner for Real Madrid against Racing Santander

The Ivory Coast winger made his mark on Sunday 1 November at the El Sardinero stadium, during Matchday 11 of La Liga.

With Real Madrid already leading 2-0, the Ivorian international joined in the Merengues’ goal-scoring spree. Capitalising on a poor clearance by the Santander defence, he struck the ball with his right foot on the edge of the box and sent a superb shot into the top right-hand corner, scoring Madrid’s third goal in the 36th minute.

With this latest goal, the 19-year-old Ivorian has confirmed his rising influence in José Mourinho’s squad. He has now made seven decisive contributions (four goals and three assists) in his last six matches for Real Madrid.

Prior to Sunday’s goal, Diomande had scored and provided an assist against Leipzig, then did the same against Sevilla. He had also provided an assist against Roma and scored against Villarreal.
