Manchester City are not backing down despite the latest dramatic developments in their long-running battle with the Premier League.

Details: Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has publicly reaffirmed the club's position after reports claimed that an independent commission had found City guilty on 114 of the 115 charges relating to alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules. The club is expected to challenge the findings, while the official process remains ongoing and possible sanctions have not yet been finally determined.

Al Mubarak made it clear that City's confidence has not been shaken by the reports. Addressing supporters, he stressed that the Premier League process still has a long way to run and added:

“Our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began.”

The chairman also said there are many details he would like to share to explain why the club feels so confident, but strict confidentiality surrounding the legal proceedings prevents him from doing so. City maintain that their position has not changed and are preparing to continue the fight through the remaining stages of the process.

It is worth noting that Manchester City currently sit top of the Premier League table with 15 points from their opening five matches of the 2026/27 season.
