Wow! Messi stars in an unexpected AI collaboration. VIDEO
Lionel Messi has swapped football tactics for chess in an unexpected new collaboration with artificial intelligence.
Details: The legendary Argentine and Inter Miami star has published an Instagram video promoting ChatGPT, revealing that he asked the AI assistant to teach him a chess opening that would match his playing style. According to Messi, ChatGPT suggested an opening called Goat Horns. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner shared the message in both Spanish and English, accompanying the publication with the hashtag #ChatGPT_Partner.
Messi also encouraged his followers to try ChatGPT's Intelligent UI themselves. Rather than asking the artificial intelligence about football, the Argentine chose chess, requesting a recommendation based on his individual style.
The collaboration comes shortly after OpenAI introduced Intelligent UI on October 7. The new feature allows ChatGPT to provide more visual and interactive responses, helping users explore complex subjects and learn new skills through personalized experiences.
Interestingly, this is not Messi's first collaboration with ChatGPT. Earlier this year, the Argentine participated in another campaign involving an AI-generated look inspired by his national team's colours.
It's worth noting that the 39-year-old forward remains one of the most productive players in MLS. According to Dailysports statistics, Messi has scored 25 goals and provided 11 assists for Inter Miami in the 2026 league season.
