Will he stay or go? Álvaro Arbeloa comments on his future at Real Madrid
Real Madrid lost to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, and after the match the coach was asked whether he is thinking about his future.
Details: At the post-match press conference, Álvaro Arbeloa stated that he is not concerned about his future. He expressed regret over failing to win the UEFA Champions League.
Quote: “I’m not worried about it at all. I’m only disappointed that we didn’t manage to win the sixteenth title… As I’ve already said, I think I did everything within my power,” Arbeloa said after the match.
Álvaro Arbeloa also added that he truly is not thinking about it, as it is the club’s decision, not his, and he remains calm about the situation.
Quote: “I’m genuinely not thinking about my future right now. It’s the club’s decision, and at this moment I’m not concerned about it,” the Real Madrid manager added.
It was also revealed after the match that the Real Madrid head coach clarified who he believes was responsible for the game unraveling.
As previously reported, Eduardo Camavinga came on in the second half. He received his first yellow card in the 78th minute and then, just eight minutes later, a second. What’s more, the second yellow card was rash and unnecessary.
Reminder: Immediately after the final whistle, emotions were still running high, and Real Madrid players sought to confront the referee.
