Who Are the Officials for the 2026 World Cup Opener Between Morocco and Brazil?
Slavko Vinčić has been selected to officiate the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup between Morocco and Brazil.
FIFA confirmed that the experienced Slovenian referee will take charge of the highly anticipated fixture, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 14, as both nations begin their World Cup campaigns.
Vinčić will be supported by fellow Slovenians Tomaj Klančnik and Andraž Kovačić, who have been appointed as the first and second assistant referees, respectively.
The officiating team will also include Swiss referee Sandro Schärer as the fourth official, while compatriot Stefanie de Almeida has been named as the reserve assistant referee.
