“We’re going to turn this disappointment into strength”: Edmond Tapsoba rallies the Stallions

Burkina Faso are turning their attention to the rest of the qualifiers for the next Africa Cup of Nations after being held to a draw by Benin on the opening day.

Ahead of the match on matchday two, scheduled for Monday 28 September against the Central African Republic, Edmond Tapsoba spoke at a press conference. The Burkinabe defender rallied his team-mates.

“We’re disappointed, but we have to move on. We’re learning from our mistakes. The match is already tomorrow. So there’s no time to waste. We’re going to turn this disappointment into strength for tomorrow’s match”.

The Stallions had drawn 1–1 with the Cheetahs at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou in their opening match of these qualifiers. A disappointing result given the ambitions set out by the Burkina Faso national team for this campaign.

Amir Abdou and his players are now in Morocco, where they will face the Central African Republic on Monday 28 September at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. It is a crucial match for the Stallions, who are determined to bounce back.
