‘We'll go there as conquerors’: Amir Abdou promises a response from Burkina Faso against the Central African Republic

Following their disappointing 1-1 draw against the Cheetahs at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou, the Stallions face the Central African Republic on Monday 28 September as part of matchday 2 of qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

At a press conference ahead of the match, Burkina Faso’s head coach, Amir Abdou, acknowledged the disappointment caused by the result against Benin at home. However, he intends to rally his squad for the second round of fixtures.

The Stallions’ manager believes that the previous match should serve as a warning to his team.

“The people are disappointed, and so am I, but we don’t have time to dwell on this poor performance. We will learn from it and move forward. We have been warned. There is no question of giving up. We will go out as conquerors to secure a result against the Central African Republic.”

For this second matchday of the qualifiers, Burkina Faso travelled to Morocco to face the Central African Republic. The match is scheduled for 4 pm GMT at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
