2027 AFCON Qualifiers: Aboubacar Camara secures victory for Burkina Faso against the Central African Republic

The Stallions bounced back on 28 September on matchday two following their frustrating 1–1 draw with Benin in Ouagadougou in their opening fixture.

The Burkina Faso national team secured a valuable victory 1-0 against the Central African Republic at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. The match was marked by a long period of suspense.

The two sides fought a fierce, goalless battle during the first half. They went into the break with neither side having managed to make the difference.

The intensity remained high in the second half. But Burkina Faso eventually found a way through. Aboubacar Camara broke the deadlock for the Stallions. He found the back of the net in the 60th minute, giving Burkina Faso a 1–0 lead.

Despite the Central African Republic’s efforts to equalise, the Stallions managed to hold on to their lead. They thus won this matchday 2 clash and have given themselves a new lease of life in Group F.

Thanks to this victory, Burkina Faso provisionally top their group with 4 points.
