Waiting for a debut. Arsenal newcomer Merino trains before the match against PSG

Tomorrow, October 1st, Arsenal will host PSG in the headline match of the second round of the Champions League. And there’s good news for Gunners' fans ahead of the game.

Details: According to Football London, Arsenal's new signing Mikel Merino, who has yet to feature this season, has returned to full training with the squad. He is likely to be included in the squad for the match against PSG.

However, it’s unlikely that Merino will start. At best, the Spanish central midfielder may come off the bench.

If the medical team deems Merino still unfit to face PSG, he is expected to make his Arsenal debut in the next Premier League fixture against Southampton.

Reminder: Merino joined Arsenal from Real Sociedad last summer for €32 million, but shortly after his transfer, the Spanish international sustained a shoulder injury.

In the first round of the Champions League, Arsenal drew 0-0 with Atalanta, while PSG narrowly defeated Girona 1-0 at home.
