The Elephants have taken control of the match thanks to Sery Ruth.

The clash on matchday 2 of Group B at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is taking place at the Moulay Rachid Stadium this Friday, 31 July. But the Elephants got the better of the Banyana Banyana during the first 45 minutes of the match.

The Ivorians took the lead early on in the 18th minute. Sery Ruth opened the scoring to make it 1–0. The Ivorian striker struck again a few minutes later to double the lead. She found the back of the net once more in the 36th minute, scoring a brace to make it 2–0.

The Ivory Coast women’s national team are therefore in a strong position. If Ivory Coast manage to hold on to their lead until the final whistle, they will secure their place in the next round of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is being held in Morocco.
