WAFCON 2026: Grace-Ruth Sery honoured for her performance against South Africa

The Ivorian was named Woman of the Match following this crunch match on the Matchday 2 of Group B.

The Ivory Coast women’s team caused a sensation in the first half of their match against South Africa at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is taking place in Morocco. The Ivorian side took control of the match early on, scoring two goals in 36 minutes.

Although the Elephants were held to a 2–2 draw by the Banyana Banyana at the final whistle, Grace-Ruth Sery left her mark on the match at the Moulay Rachid Stadium. The Ivorian player scored a brace during the match.

Sery found the net in the 18th minute to open the scoring before doubling the lead in the 36th minute. Her performance was praised at the end of the match, which finished 2–2. In recognition of her performance, Grace-Ruth Sery was named Woman of the Match in the game between South Africa and Ivory Coast.
