The match between Egypt's Al Ahly and FAR Rabat was marred by scenes of violence at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, 15 February 2026. Supporters of the Egyptian club threw water bottles at players from the Moroccan club, who were visiting Cairo.
One player was hit by one of these water bottles during the match. The reasons for throwing the water bottles were not mentioned. However, the scene does not reflect well on African football.
