Moroccan club FAR is preparing to submit an official complaint to CAF following an incident during their CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly, after some fans of the Egyptian side threw water bottles towards the visiting players.
The incident occurred during a tense encounter and posed a safety risk to the players. The Moroccan club views such behavior as unacceptable and expects the continental federation to take disciplinary action.
Al Ahly has not issued any official comments at the time of publication. CAF is expected to review the incident materials in the near future.
For the record, the match in Cairo ended in a goalless draw. Both teams advanced to the quarterfinals following the group stage.
