(VIDEO) What was VAR doing? Another scandalous decision in the Arsenal vs Bayern match
In the final seconds of yesterday's UEFA Champions League quarterfinal match between Arsenal and Bayern Munich (2-2), another controversial incident involving referee Glenn Nyberg occurred.
Arsenal's star player Bukayo Saka broke through one-on-one with Bayern's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and fell in the penalty area after contact with the opponent's leg.
However, the referee did not award a penalty, stating that Saka had initiated the contact with Neuer.
Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard believes that the referee should have awarded a penalty.
"It looked like a penalty. There appeared to be clear contact," said the Belgian footballer after the match.
It's worth noting that in the same match, the referee also did not award a penalty for a handball in Arsenal's goal.
The second leg between Bayern Munich and Arsenal will take place in Munich next Wednesday, April 17.
