Uganda and Tanzania faced off in Rabat in a head-to-head clash as part of the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage.
Uganda entered the match as slight favorites, but what unfolded was a gripping contest. Msuvan opened the scoring midway through the second half, converting a penalty. The Ugandans responded through Ikpeazu in the 80th minute, and in stoppage time, they had a golden opportunity to snatch victory.
The referee awarded a penalty to Uganda, and Vipers striker Allan Okello stepped up to take it. Whether it was nerves or the pouring rain, Okello sent the ball sailing over the bar, and the final whistle confirmed a draw that left both sides frustrated.
Looking ahead to the third round on December 30, Uganda will face Nigeria, while Tanzania goes up against Tunisia.
