At 40 years old, Faouzi Chaouchi is not giving up on his dream of returning to the Algerian national team. The USM El Harrach goalkeeper recently expressed his readiness to serve his country again.

"I am 100% ready if the coach needs me," said Chaouchi. His last match for Algeria was in 2018, and he has 15 caps, 17 goals conceded, and 7 clean sheets.

Chaouchi remains in top form, playing a key role in USM El Harrach’s recent Algerian Cup victories. However, a return seems unlikely as coach Vladimir Petkovic already has a clear goalkeeper hierarchy with Anthony Mandrea, Alexandre Oukidja, and Mustapha Zeghba.

Despite this, Chaouchi’s experience and leadership remain valuable. Will he get a farewell call-up, or will his national team chapter remain closed?
