Reports confirm that Wallin has been diagnosed with a broken nose. Post-fight, Wallin remained overnight in a hospital in Riyadh to receive medical attention.
Wallin started experiencing nasal bleeding after the first round. Following the fifth round, Wallin's team opted to discontinue the bout as his condition deteriorated.
In the main fight in Saudi Arabia, an upset took place. Deontay Wilder (43–2–1, 42 KOs) from the United States lost to Joseph Parker (33–3, 23 KOs) from New Zealand by unanimous decision of the judges (111–118, 110–118, 108–120).
Joshua later reacted to Wilder's defeat and discussed the possibility of another match between them in the future, considering Wilder's loss.
