Real Madrid were beaten by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and ended up with an unwanted record after the match.

Details: According to Opta, Real Madrid have now failed to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in back-to-back seasons for only the second time, matching the total number of such failures across the previous 14 editions combined.

In other words, between the 2010/11 and 2023/24 seasons, the club missed out on the semi-finals only twice.

It was also revealed after the match that the Real Madrid head coach clarified who he believes was responsible for the game unraveling.

As previously reported, Eduardo Camavinga came on in the second half. He received his first yellow card in the 78th minute and then, just eight minutes later, a second. What’s more, the second yellow card was rash and unnecessary.

Reminder: Immediately after the final whistle, emotions were still running high, and Real Madrid players sought to confront the referee.
