Unexpected! Man City want to sign France national team star
Manchester City have added another high-profile name to their midfield shortlist.
Details: According to Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan, Manchester City are interested in Roma midfielder Manu Koné. The France international has emerged as a target for the Citizens as they look to reinforce the centre of the pitch.
At this stage, Koné is being described as a transfer target rather than the subject of a completed agreement. No information has yet emerged about formal negotiations between Manchester City and Roma or a possible transfer fee.
The 25-year-old midfielder remains a Roma player and has developed into an important figure for both the Italian club and France. He was part of the French squad at the 2026 World Cup, with Roma themselves highlighting his involvement with Didier Deschamps' team during the tournament.
City's midfield is already undergoing significant changes this summer. Tijjani Reijnders officially left the club for Al Qadsiah on August 19, while Rodri completed his move to Barcelona a day earlier. Koné has now appeared on the list of possible options for the English giants.
It is worth noting that Transfermarkt currently values Manu Koné at €50 million. His contract with Roma runs until the summer of 2029.
