Uli Hoeneß revealed that Bayern continues to work on bringing in the head coach of Bayer

Uli Hoeneß, a member of Bayern Munich's board of directors, confirmed that the Munich club continues to pursue the appointment of Bayer's head coach, Xabi Alonso.

"Xabi Alonso has proven that he can be a coach for truly big teams. It will be much more difficult because clubs like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayer, [to retain him], just like Bayern, are also working on it. There is hardly a more suitable coach available at the moment," Hoeneß told Ransport.

Bayern is actively searching for a head coach to succeed Thomas Tuchel. Xabi Alonso is the leading candidate for the vacant position. It has been reported that the parties have already held preliminary discussions.

Earlier, the sports director of the Munich club selected his favorite for the position of head coach of the team.

Bayer, led by Alonso, is 10 points ahead of Bayern with eight rounds left in the Bundesliga season.
