Bayern's sporting director has picked his favourite to be the team's head coach

Bayern Munich are now actively searching for a head coach to succeed Thomas Tuchel. The main candidate is Xabi Alonso, but the "recordmeister" also has a backup option.

Florian Plettenberg reports that Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi is plan B in case the Spaniard can't be brought in.

It is reported that a big fan of the Italian's work is Bayern's new sporting director Max Eberle, who likes the specialist's style and the way he works with youngsters.

Plettenberg also commented on the rumours surrounding José Mourinho's employment in Munich. The journalist emphasised that despite all the regalia of the Portuguese, his candidacy in Bayern is not considered.
