Bayern Munich has commenced negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen's head coach, Xabi Alonso, as reported by Sky Sports Germany.

It has been revealed that the 42-year-old coach will cost the Munich team between 15-25 million euros this summer, as he is under contract with Bayer until the summer of 2025. Additionally, Liverpool is interested in signing the coach as a replacement for Jürgen Klopp. Alonso's transfer in the summer is quite possible; however, the coach himself has not yet made a final decision.

It is also reported that preliminary discussions between the parties have already taken place, with a positive signal from the Munich side. Bayern expresses cautious optimism that they will succeed in persuading Alonso to join Munich as early as next season.

Bayern Munich is enduring a disappointing season under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel. Due to this state of affairs, the club and the coach have decided to end their collaboration after the season.

However, Tuchel might depart Munich much earlier if Bayern fails to progress past Lazio and bows out of the Champions League.
