Transfer surprise! Arsenal star could be heading to Italy

Roma has entered the race for one of Arsenal’s most talked-about players on the transfer market.

Details: According to Mirror Football, the Roman club has held preliminary discussions with representatives of 25-year-old Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli. At this stage, Roma is merely exploring the possibility of a potential transfer—there are no reports yet of direct negotiations with Arsenal.

Interest in Martinelli’s future has ramped up significantly in recent days. Previously, Galatasaray had already discussed a possible deal for the Brazilian with Arsenal, but the London club is unwilling to let the player go until they secure a suitable replacement.

Martinelli’s contract with Arsenal runs for another season, with the club holding an option to extend for an additional year. This puts the Gunners in a strong negotiating position moving forward.

It’s worth noting that since joining Arsenal in 2019, Martinelli has made 278 appearances for the club, netting 62 goals and providing 36 assists. Transfermarkt currently values the Brazilian at €45 million.
