Istanbul is calling! Galatasaray open talks with Arsenal over Martinelli
Gabriel Martinelli could become the blockbuster transfer hit of August.
Details: According to Nicolo Schira, Galatasaray have opened official negotiations with Arsenal over the transfer of Gabriel Martinelli, whose contract with the Gunners expires in the summer of 2027. Besides the Istanbul giants, clubs from La Liga and Serie A have already approached the Brazilian—there’s a serious queue lining up for the winger.
As previously reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Martinelli is Galatasaray’s backup option in case talks for Milan’s Rafael Leão fall through. Arsenal are open to discussing a deal in the region of €45–50 million: Mikel Arteta is rebuilding the left flank and has already signed Christos Tzolis from Brugge for £34 million.
Last September, Martinelli scored the third-fastest goal in Champions League history after the restart, netting just 14 seconds after Atlético’s goalkeeper cleared the ball.
