Tottenham and Liverpool set to battle for Wolfsburg defender Konstantinos Koulierakis
English sides Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are showing serious interest in Wolfsburg and Greece national team defender Konstantinos Koulierakis.
Details: According to TBR Football, both clubs have already sent scouts to monitor the 21-year-old talent.
Tottenham are targeting Koulierakis as a priority for the January transfer window as they look to strengthen the heart of their defence. The club is seeking a left-footed centre-back who can provide cover for Micky van de Ven, and Koulierakis fits that profile perfectly.
Journalist Graeme Bailey noted that interest in the Greek defender is not limited to English clubs:
"Koulierakis stands out for his composure and his ability as a left-footed centre-back — a profile that's always in short supply on the market," Bailey stated.
Despite a challenging start to the season for Wolfsburg, Koulierakis has performed well, already making 11 appearances for the club across all competitions this campaign.
Reminder: Tottenham player Destiny Udogie was threatened with a firearm in London.
