Too early! Cole Palmer reportedly banned by EA

Cole Palmer appears to have pressed the live button a little earlier than EA had planned.

Details: A viral post claims that the Chelsea midfielder was banned by EA after starting a Twitch broadcast of EA SPORTS FC 27 before the agreed embargo window had expired. The stream was subsequently interrupted, with the Twitch player displaying a notice that the content had been removed at the request of the copyright holder.

The screenshot also shows a message from the EA SPORTS FC account reacting to Palmer's premature appearance and reminding him that the planned broadcast was scheduled for 6pm UK time. That made the situation particularly awkward, as the Chelsea star seemingly gave viewers access to the game ahead of the intended promotional window.

The accompanying post additionally reports that EA banned Palmer. However, the screenshot itself directly confirms only the removal of the Twitch content, and no public statement from EA confirming the exact nature or duration of any sanction against the player could be found at the time of writing. EA has officially confirmed that FC 27 early access begins on September 18, with the worldwide release scheduled for September 25.

It is worth noting that Palmer remains one of Chelsea's key attacking players this season. In the opening four Premier League matches of the 2026/27 campaign, the England international has scored two goals and provided two assists. He also came off the bench to score twice in Chelsea's 6-3 EFL Cup victory over Leeds.
