Togo and Guinea draw in international friendly
Patrice Neveu’s side were leading, however, before being pegged back late in the game.
At the Moulay Al Hassan Stadium in Morocco, Togo and Guinea played out a spectacular draw. The Togolese side took the lead in the first half. Kevin Denkey opened the scoring in the 31st minute from the penalty spot before Idjessi Metsoko doubled the lead in the 83rd minute, thanks to another penalty he converted. Togo held onto this two-goal lead before cracking in the dying moments of the match.
The Syli National found the resources to snatch a draw. Mamady Cissé pulled one back in the 85th minute before the ever-present Serhou Guirassy equalised in the 88th minute. The two sides thus drew 2-2. Patrice Neveu had to settle for a draw in his first outing as head coach of the Togo national team.
