All three candidates are top-level specialists.

Details: According to Fussballdaten, Manchester City's management has come to terms with the fact that the current head coach, 55-year-old Pep Guardiola, will leave the club when his contract expires, and they have already begun searching for a suitable replacement.

Reportedly, the main contenders for the City manager's seat are Xabi Alonso, Enzo Maresca, and Cesc Fàbregas.

While Alonso and Maresca are obvious choices thanks to their experience at elite clubs, Cesc Fàbregas appears to be the least prominent among the candidates.

The 38-year-old Fàbregas has managed only one team in his coaching career—Italian side Como, where he is still at the helm. However, Fàbregas' achievements in Italy have convinced City's management to include him among the top three candidates for the managerial position.

Fàbregas took charge of Como in 2024 after previously serving as an assistant coach. As head coach, he has overseen 70 matches, recording 30 wins, 19 draws, and 21 defeats.

Guardiola's current contract with City expires in the summer of 2027.
