Thomas Tuchel wishes England fans a Merry Christmas
German coach Thomas Tuchel, who will officially take charge as England's manager on January 1, extended warm Christmas greetings to fans of the national team. A short video featuring his message was shared on the official England team account on X.
In the video, Tuchel wished England supporters a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, adding that he looks forward to seeing them at stadiums soon.
Tuchel's first challenge as England's manager will be to lead the team through the qualification process for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in spring 2025. England’s first match is scheduled for March 21 against Albania. The team shares their qualifying group with Serbia, Andorra, and Latvia.
Tuchel has previously managed top clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich. He famously won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 and reached the competition's final with PSG in 2020, where they lost to Bayern Munich.
This appointment marks Tuchel's debut as a national team manager. His playing career ended prematurely at the age of 25 due to chronic joint issues, paving the way for his illustrious coaching journey.
