Liverpool hosts PSV in Matchday 5 of the Champions League. The Dutch side took the lead thanks to Ivan Perisic, who calmly converted a penalty and, in doing so, etched his name into Champions League history.

Details: According to Opta, PSV’s experienced midfielder Ivan Perisic, who is currently 36 years and 297 days old, has become the third-oldest player to score a penalty during regular time in a Champions League match (excluding shootouts). Only Sergio Ramos (37 years, 257 days) and Luka Modric (37 years, 54 days) have done it at an older age.

As of the 25th minute, the score is 1-1. Liverpool equalized through Dominik Szoboszlai’s effort.

This season, the Croatian veteran has made eighteen appearances for the Dutch club across all competitions, tallying two goals and six assists.

Reminder: Alisson has once again been left out of Liverpool’s squad. Find out why.
