The friendly between Spain and Egypt (0-0), held on March 31, 2026 at the RCDE Stadium, was marred by disgraceful fan behavior.
Details: Throughout the match, xenophobic and Islamophobic chants were heard from the stands, targeting Muslims. Spain's head coach Luis de la Fuente didn't hold back his emotions at the post-match press conference, delivering a fierce statement against the radical supporters.
"My reaction? It's an unequivocal condemnation of any racist, xenophobic, or disrespectful attitudes. It was simply unbearable," said the 64-year-old manager.
When asked how such incidents should be dealt with, the coach was uncompromising:
"These people must be removed from society. The further away they are from us, the better. Period."
De la Fuente emphasized that such outbursts disgrace Spanish football and have nothing to do with the values of sport.
Reminder: Barcelona and Spain winger Lamine Yamal refused to interact with fans after the match against Egypt.
