There are still two weeks left. Barcelona set new deadline to sign Nico Williams

Barcelona had two primary transfer targets for the summer transfer window: Dani Olmo and Nico Williams. While the situation with RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo was resolved yesterday when the Catalan club officially announced his signing, the transfer of Athletic Bilbao's winger Nico Williams is still in negotiations.
Earlier, Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, stated that the club had the financial means to sign the young Spanish national team star. The club even set a deadline for the deal, initially naming August 12th as the final date. However, as this date approached, Barça adjusted their plans.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has now set a new deadline for this deal on August 23rd. The reason behind this shift is their upcoming match against Williams' current club, Athletic Bilbao. The teams are scheduled to face each other in La Liga on August 24th, which will also be Barcelona's first home game of the new season.
At present, Nico Williams remains committed to staying with Athletic Bilbao, and his home club still hopes to retain him for at least one more season.
