Bayer Leverkusen's CEO Fernando Carro commented on the future of the club's head coach, Xabi Alonso.

According to the top manager of the club, there are currently no grounds to believe that the Spaniard will leave Leverkusen in the summer.

"Xabi Alonso's contract runs until 2026, and there are no reasons to doubt that he will stay here. In football, you never know what will happen, but there is a lot of trust in me, and we have a good relationship," said Carro.

Earlier, media outlets spread information that Bayern Munich had already begun negotiations with Xabi Alonso, and a legend of Real Madrid could become his successor at Leverkusen.

At the moment, Bayer is ahead of Bayern by 10 points and is preparing to secure the runner-up spot in the German Bundesliga ahead of schedule.
