Real Madrid legend could be Alonso's successor at Bayer

Former Real Madrid player and current Bayer head coach Xabi Alonso is now a titbit for many top clubs, but it seems that Leverkusen have found a replacement for the specialist if he leaves the club.

According to BILD, the Pharmacists could bring in another former Real Madrid player and current Los Blancos second-team coach, Raúl. It is believed that the Royal club legend has all the makings to shine in the same way as Alonso.

The 46-year-old Spaniard has only worked within the Real Madrid structure since moving into coaching in August 2018, having been in charge of Castilla since 2019. According to Transfermarkt, Raúl's contract with the Los Blancos runs until 30 June this year.

Recall that Alonso is now linked with Liverpool and Bayern, but for Bayer to let the Spaniard go, the contenders need to pay a considerable sum.
