The teams of Gervonta Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko are in negotiations for a fight

The teams of boxers Gervonta Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko have resumed negotiations for a potential fight.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum confirmed that discussions are indeed ongoing. Premier Boxing Champions, representing Gervonta Davis, also corroborated the news about the negotiations.

There was earlier speculation that the fight might take place in November or December this year. It’s worth noting that Teofimo Lopez recently stated that negotiations for a fight between Davis and Lomachenko had concluded.

On the night of June 15-16, a major boxing event took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, USA. The main event saw the current WBA lightweight world champion, American Gervonta Davis, face off against challenger and compatriot Frank Martin.

The challenger started the fight strongly but lost momentum by the middle rounds. In the eighth round, Martin lingered near the ropes, allowing Davis to knock him out.

Previously, in Perth, Australia, a boxing show concluded at the RAC Arena, headlined by a fight for the IBF lightweight world title. Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko faced Australian George Kambosos.

In the eleventh round, Lomachenko delivered a precise jab that knocked out his opponent. Kambosos managed to get back on his feet after a few seconds but couldn't withstand another attack from Lomachenko, prompting the referee to stop the fight.
