The situation is reaching a boiling point. Major changes are looming in Barcelona
Ten opposition groups have demanded the immediate resignation of Barcelona president Joan Laporta over the issue surrounding the registration of players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. They have announced that if Laporta does not step down, they will formally move to express a vote of no confidence against him.
Details: The recent refusal by La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to register Olmo and Víctor has forced the club to appeal to the Higher Sports Council. The opposition has criticized Laporta for the club's financial troubles during the 2023/24 season, difficult negotiations over extending the Nike sponsorship deal, and, of course, the rejection of Olmo and Víctor's registration.
Reminder: The opposition's statement accuses Laporta of consistently risking the club's reputation, which, unfortunately, has been seriously tarnished for quite some time. If the president does not resign, the opposition groups have pledged to take formal steps to express their dissatisfaction.
