Real Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has suffered a recurrence of injury and is unlikely to play for the remainder of this season, as reported by Marca.

It has been revealed that the Belgian goalkeeper has been diagnosed with a tear in the internal meniscus of his right knee. The 31-year-old Belgian sustained the injury during training and left the session in tears. Thibaut Courtois is set to undergo another surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.

It is worth recalling that in early August last year, Courtois suffered a severe injury - a torn cruciate ligament. As a result, the goalkeeper has been absent for the entire season, with Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin taking his place in the goal.

Not long ago, Real Madrid's head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, announced that Thibaut Courtois was expected to return to the main squad after the break for international matches. Earlier, the Belgian guardian of the goal had already begun training with the team, but he only participated in some exercises, not full training sessions.
