The transfer window in England opened in mid-June, and Chelsea continues to be active in the market. A clear focus on young talent can be observed in the London club's strategy. Previously, we reported that the Blues signed 17-year-old Brazilian Willian Estevão. They then acquired 18-year-old Omari Kellyman, and one of their latest signings is Barcelona's 18-year-old talent, Marc Guillou.
However, Chelsea does not plan to stop there. According to Fabrizio Romano, the London club is aiming to sign Portuguese defender Renato Veiga from Basel. The player's contract is valued at €14 million, although according to the statistical portal Transfermarkt, his market value is only €3 million. It is expected that the Portuguese will sign a contract until 2032.
Renato Veiga has played at Basel for only a year. Last summer, he moved to the club from Sporting for €4.6 million. In addition to his performances in Portugal and Switzerland, the player has experience playing in Germany, where he spent a year at Augsburg.
